AT&T announced the addition of 13 new markets to its 4G LTE network today, bringing the total count up to 359 high-speed markets covering 225 million people in the U.S. The carrier continues to roll out LTE service across the country, and is now ahead of schedule in its plans to offer 400 4G LTE markets covering 270 million people by the end of 2014.
New additions to AT&T’s 4G LTE market include Stockton, CA; Fort Collins-Loveland, CO; Coeur D’Alene, ID; Topeka, KS; Mount Sterling, KY; Kirksville, MO; Greenville and Vicksburg, MS; Portsmouth, NH; Zanesville, OH; Medford-Ashland, OR; Laredo, TX; and Charlottesville, VA. The carrier has also expanded its coverage in regions across the country including parts of LA, San Francisco, Portland and Seattle.
While AT&T may be well on its way to 400 4G LTE markets by the end of the year, the carrier still trails far behind Verizon when it comes to total coverage. However, if AT&T is available in your region it may be worth switching carriers. The network boasts the fastest 4G speeds according to reports from PC World, PCMag and TechHive.
