BlackBerry Z30 Compared to Z10 and Q5

The first rumors that suggested BlackBerry was working on a phablet were largely in relation to a device known as the “BlackBerry A10.” Now, however, it appears that that phone will hit the market as the BlackBerry Z30 – a larger-screened version of the BlackBerry Z10.

The phone recently made an appearance in a series of photos obtained by CrackBerry. We can see that the device offers a huge screen that’s both taller and wider than the display on the BlackBerry Z10. It’s also much, much bigger than the Q5, which makes an appearance in the photos for no clear reason. CrackBerry says the Z30 has a 5-inch screen, a dual-core processor and 2GB of RAM. The device is also expected to launch running BlackBerry OS 10.2 out of the box and, as the photo shows, it has the ability to show a stack of five icons from top to bottom, while the Z10 is only capable of showing four. That means you’ll be able to see 20 apps on the home screen instead of 16 on the Z10.

We’re guessing we’ll see the BlackBerry Z30 before the year is up, but we hope it has more than just a big screen to woo consumers.
