Insomniac Games Trademarks Bad Dinos

Insomniac Games is finding a lot of ways to keep busy these days. They’ve got Sunset Overdrive in the works as an Xbox One exclusive, a new Ratchet & Clank game slated for holiday release, and apparently are even following up with Fuse DLC. Where will they find the time to fill in the gaps with this new trademarked title, Bad Dinos?

The trademark application describes the title as “providing online video games,” so anything is possible at this point. However, the title alone is enough to make me giddy as a six year old dinosaur nerd. After the Fuse backlash, it seems Insomniac would rather play to its strengths and what its audience wants nowadays.

With so many other games in the works and the whole “online video game” angle, I’m going to take a stab and guess that this is a small mobile game or side project to its big blockbusters. The cute title rings more closely to the casual offerings of the iOS market, and Insomniac has proven it has no problem working outside of its traditional console market by making Outernauts as a Facebook game.

Granted, I would love to see any game with the title Bad Dinos with the Insomniac branding gracing the retail shelves. We will have to wait until Insomniac has something official for us.
