We’re only a few hours away from the official unveiling of the Moto X, but that isn’t stopping some of the apps to support the device from making some early appearances.
Over in the Chrome extensions store you’ll find Motorola Connect. This new extension will allow you to see from your browser who is calling or texting you without having to fish your phone out of your pocket. As an added bonus, you can also reply to texts directly from the browser, a feature we think just about any smartphone user could enjoy. Using a full sized keyboard to reply to texts is always going to trump typing on your screen.
This Chrome extensions is also listed as being compatiable with theD ROID ULTRA, DROID MAXX and DROID MINI when those are released.
Over in the Google Play store you’ll find Motorola Migrate. As the name implies this app will help you make the move from an older Android device to a newer Motorola one. The procedure will be carried out wirelessly and allow you to move photos, videos, SIM contacts and your call and text history. It’ll support phones running Android 2.2 (Froyo) and above.
While Migrate doesn’t specifically name which Motorola phones it is built for, the fact that it was released on July 31, the day before the announcement of the Moto X, would seem to be a good indication of what its intended use is.
The Moto X will be announced later today so stay turned for all of our coverage.
