Dragon’s Crown Launch Trailer Makes Me Want to Drop Quarters

Dragon’s Crown is launching next week for the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita, and Atlus has released a new trailer showing off the old school beat ’em up gameplay one last time.

The game is a 100% pure action straight from the classic days of arcades. Anyone who remembers lining up with five friends and dropping $10 in quarters trouncing through X-Men Arcade will feel right at home diving into this game.

Sorceress, Dwarf, Elf, or Wizard; it doesn’t matter who you choose because each looks like a blast. Vanillaware has gone to great lengths to balance these characters and make them work in a team. Not to mention, the animation looks really beautiful in the process.

Given my style of play from the fantasy RPGs it has modeled itself after, the Elf is going to be my first choice. I always end up an archer and a backstabber in Skyrim, Dragon’s Age, or Dead Souls, and I don’t think that’s going to change here.

Who will you be playing as? Let us know below.

Dragon’s Crown will be released on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita on August 6th. No crossplay will be available between the two versions.
