The iPhone 5C fairy tale is one of tech’s more popular oral traditions, passed down from supply line to supply line and fed into the perpetual rumor mill. There’s been an inordinate amount of pictures of the device’s colorful shell, and it’s even been unofficially confirmed by investigative reports. Basically, it exists, and it’s coming this fall. And, unsurprisingly, it could look pretty darn good on store shelves when it launches.
Prolific render wizard Martin Hajek conjured up how the iPhone 5C—C for color, not cheap—will look inside its colorful packaging, and it looks great. Rather than a simple black or white box, Apple could potentially use packaging similar to its iPod lineup—this was evidenced by a picture that popped up recently. Some might not consider packaging to be a big deal, but Apple notoriously takes that aspect of a product very seriously.
Hajek has already cooked up some really great renders of the iPhone 5C, complemented very nicely by these bright blue Smurf renders. One has to wonder, if Apple’s budget iPhone does introduce a more prominent color palette to its lineup, how that will affect the stature of an iPod touch, and if that kind of device will be relevant anymore. Something to ponder as we edge closer to the iPhone 5C’s possible fall release.
