An iPhone 5C case has surfaced on Amazon from accessory maker Elago. Before we get too much into the nitty gritty, it’s extremely common for case makers to attempt to guess the dimensions of a new iPhone so that products are available at the time of launch. We saw this years ago ahead of the rumored “iPhone 5” launch, when Casemate published images of a few cases on its site. What happened? Apple announced the iPhone 4S and the cases never saw the light of day.
Even still, we’re starting to believe that the iPhone 5C is indeed the real deal. One source recently confirmed the name to Business Insider, all of the leaked photos show the same device, and a worker at a Pegatron factory said she had been working on the phone’s manufacturing line.
As MacRumors points out, the case pictures above shows off an iPhone 5 fitting inside of the case, but the accessory is advertised as a “Slim Fit 2 Case for the iPhone 5C.” Our guess is the company has what it believes to be the real dimensions and wants to get its product on Amazon as soon as possible. Various cases are available for between $9.99 and $24.99 and there’s even an expedited shipping option to receive it in 1-3 business days. That’s a bit early, because we expect Apple to announce the phone in September.
