Another day another budget iPhone leak. It’s hard to imagine that Apple won’t actually announce it at this point, but we still have to label it a rumor because it’s not official. Today’s leak lines up with all of the others we’ve seen so far. It has the same plastic back body, a 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom next to the Lighning port, a camera on the back right next to a single LED flash and Apple’s standard branding.
The device appears to be assembled, at least partially, because we can see the metal inner linings of the Lightning port and the 3.5mm headphone jack. It looks like the device is sitting in some sort of retail shop, though, so it’s entirely possible this is a faux design crafted by people with leaked dimensions or third-party drafted renders of the phone.
The budget iPhone is expected to launch alongside the iPhone 5S in the fall and may very well be destined to emerging markets, particularly to China where Apple is losing ground to local rivals. It may launch in several color schemes, though the image above – like others – suggests white will also be an option.
