AT&T recently announced that it would soon carry the Nokia Lumia 520 through its pre-paid GoPhone plans, and the device is now officially available. It’s a steal, too: $99 will get you a brand new Windows Phone 8 device without any need for signing a contract.
The Lumia 520 isn’t a high-end device, though we can’t imagine how much better a $99 phone could get. The device is equipped with a 5-megapixel camera, a 4-inch 800 x 480-pixel display, GPS, Bluetooth, a dual-core Qualcomm processor clocked at 1GHz, 8GB of expandable storage and more. Our biggest gripe is that it doesn’t offer a front-facing camera or LTE support, but clearly some corners need to be cut to meet such a desirable price point.
We have a feeling the Lumia 520 is going to be super successful on AT&T’s GoPhone plans – and it should come as no surprise, considering the device is the best selling Windows Phone on the planet.
