Parts for Apple’s upcoming iPhone 5S have slowly trickled out over the past few months, and a fresh leak from Nowhereelse.fr on Thursday shows off the device’s purported logic board. There are two different components on display—or at least from different months of production—showing slight variants as marked by the red boxes. So what does that mean?
As pointed out by Nowhereelse.fr, the different components could indicate Apple is preparing two different iPhone models this fall, though it’s not like we didn’t already know that. This could simply be that one is for the more high-end iPhone 5S, and the other is for Apple’s rumored budget iPhone, which we’ve seen on a number of occasions.
It’s difficult to discern any information from the supposed parts, and they could very well be knockoffs. Ahead of high-profile Apple releases, parts often leak out during the production process—this could be that same deal. Rumors have claimed units are already being assembled ahead of a fall release, so we wouldn’t rule out these pieces being legit.
