Google Glass doesn’t look attractive right now – unless you want to look like a Cyborg. That’s fine for developers or anyone testing the current build of the product, because the idea with the Google Glass Explorer Edition is to show the concept and allow software makers to build apps. But for the general public?Goofy looking.
Thankfully it appears Google is well aware that consumers want something stylish when it comes to wearable technology. Heck, Jawbone knows this, too – take a look at the Jawbone Up, it looks like a bracelet and it’s selling like hot cakes. We heard earlier this year that Google has apparently tapped Warby Parker, which makes fashionable glasses, to help design the future of Google Glass. Now, designer Rahul Nihalani from Sourcebits has taken pen to paper to create a concept of what the glasses might look like.
They look better, far better, than what Google Glass currently offers. The frames are black, there’s a nice blue nose piece that adds some flare to the set, and the Google Glass prism sits almost out of the way at the top right of the glasses. It’s not out of the way entirely, but it looks a heck of a lot better. The memory and storage is built into the right-side of the device, though it’s unclear if Google can actually manage to squeeze it into such a small area, and there’s a battery meter on the left arm.
Hopefully this is what Google Glass eventually looks like. I’d wear these.
