Google Nexus 7 - 2013 - Android 4.3 - Features - DRM API - 003

Google isn’t just focusing on physical alterations with its new Nexus 7; the company said on Wednesday it’s adding a new set of DRM that allows for hardware-based encryption for video, which Netflix is unsurprisingly taking advantage of. Google said there’s already a Netflix app in the Play store that is capable of playing 1080p content with the new DRM and, of course, the new Nexus 7 will be able to take advantage of the brand new feature. Since the new Nexus 7 has a 1920 x 1200 resolution screen, Netflix content promises to look pretty darn nice on the small tab.
