T-Mobile May Not Offer Moto X

Eric Schmidt, executive chairman of Google, dials on the yet to be released Google produced Moto X phone at the annual Allen and Co. conference in Sun Valley

T-Mobile might not offer Motorola’s upcoming X phone. According to a source speaking with 9to5Google, the carrier hasn’t yet finalized a deal with Motorola despite an earlier report claiming all four big carriers in the U.S. would offer the device. 9to5Google surmises the decision could be a result of T-Mobile already carrying the Nexus 4, which is shaping up to be an option comparable to Motorola’s upcoming handset.

Motorola has an event planned for Aug. 1, where we’ll finally get all the details on the company’s “design it yourself” project. We’ve seen plenty of the device in the last month alone, though specs have been pretty conflicting. At launch, color options will supposedly be limited to white, black, “and a few other varieties.” We’ll likely see many more options once production ramps up.

As we near Motorola’s Aug. 1 event, we’ll keep our eyes and ears peeled for anymore leaks. We’d expect more information to be revealed before then, so stay tuned.
