AT&T on Monday officially announced that it will soon offer the Nokia Lumia 520 to GoPhone customers. The device is the first Windows Phone option in AT&T’s prepaid lineup.
The Lumia 520 is the best selling Windows Phone on the planet, despite offering a gamut of mid-range specs. It’s equipped with a 4-inch 800 x 480-pixel display, Windows Phone 8, a 1,430mAh battery, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of expandable storage and a 5-megapixel camera. It also launches with free access to Nokia’s HERE maps for voice-guided directions, even offline, and transit and traffic information.
“We are excited to launch the first 4G Windows Phone 8 smartphone in our GoPhone portfolio,” said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president of devices. “A diverse device ecosystem benefits everyone, and the addition of an affordable Windows device gives our customers yet another choice that fits their needs.”
The Lumia 520 will make its debut on July 26 where AT&T GoPhone devices are sold and will cost $99.99. A similar variant, the Lumia 521, is available on T-Mobile.
