If you’re unsure whether or not you actually want the Android-powered Shield, Nvidia will be giving consumers the opportunity to get some hands-on time prior to launch. According to Android and Me, the company will embark on a mini-tour in select markets on the west and east coasts, allowing folks to test the device out before buying. It’s a limited tour, and it’s unclear how Nvidia will actually handle the demonstrations, though it’s clear the company wants to drum up hype following the device’s delay.
During the month of August on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Nvidia will show the device off at theaters in the San Francisco Bay Area and also in New York City. Despite Nvidia running into issues with the Shield, it’s still a hotly anticipated device, and could potentially change the way we think of mobile gaming. Of course, we won’t actually know until we get thorough hands-on time; if you’re nearby any of the mentioned theaters, it might be your best opportunity to check the mini-console out.
