Nexus 7 Rumors Again Hint at a Late July Release

Yet another report has surfaced that suggests that the refreshed Nexus 7 will be surfacing some time around the end of July.

In what has become one of the biggest cat-and-mouse games in the tech industry, yet another rumor is going around that points to a late July release for the refreshed Nexus 7. According to a report from Taiwanese new source Economic Daily, sources are saying that the end of this month will indeed be the release date. However, this date has been tossed around since back in the spring, so this isn’t exactly new, but instead just yet another confirmation of the same news.

We have to figure the date is indeed drawing close as the refreshed Nexus 7 passed through the FCC last month, and one day after that it passed through Bluetooth SIG. These are activities that typically do not occur unless a release is nearing, so we have to agree that the end of this month does appear quite likely.

While dates are nice, so are specs, but those have been a lot less forthcoming. We have seen reports of both of Snapdragon S4 and Snapdragon 600 processors, so that appears to still be up in the air. The only thing that seems to be the least bit concrete is a 5MP camera on the rear.

Hopefully everything will be firmed up in the near future as we would love to see a new version of one of the best Android tablets on the market.
