Flashback Friday: Nokia 7650

Nokia introduced a crazy phone this week with a 41MP camera in it, but maybe we should take a look back at the humble beginnings.

The first phone with a camera from the Finnish company was the Nokia 7650 released in 2002. Not only was it the first camera phone for the company, but it was also the first to run its fabled S60 operating system that served it well for so very long. We have no clue what the “megapixels” were on this sucker (our guess is it was VGA), but you have to give them kudos for jumping into the game early.

Mind you this wasn’t the first camera phone period, that honor, to probably no one’s surprise, goes to the Japanese in the year 2000.
