I can’t think of a single fan of NES-era Capcom fan who isn’t stoked for being able to play DuckTales in HD.
The original NES classic is the highlight of a series of excellent games licensed out to Capcom by Disney, and with WayForward and its keen sense of recreating older experiences in the modern market, there is little reason to doubt that this will be a huge victory for fans.
Only one month remains until the game is launched, as Capcom announced that it will be released digitally through PlayStation Store, Nintendo eShop, and PCs on August 13th. The Xbox Live version will be released on September 11th.
PlayStation 3 owners also have the option for a boxed version to be purchased at retail which comes with a DuckTales Disney collector’s pin. The digital versions will be $14.99 while the retail will be $19.99.
To celebrate the announcement, CapcomUnity has also released the first “Duckumentary” video, a series in which WayForward employees explain the process of making Ducktales Remastered. One is expected every week until release.
