Staples will reportedly offer the 32GB Surface RT for $349 starting July 14. That’s $150 off the regular price—not bad considering the engineering and design behind the device. The tab itself is still limited by the software it runs, Windows 8 RT, but the discount will surely attract users looking for an alternative to Apple’s iPad; the iPad mini, it’s worth mentioning, starts out at $329 for the 16GB version, and $429 for the 32GB version.

The price cut might not convince every would-be tablet owner to go to their nearest Staples once the discount goes into effect, but it will surely turn a few heads. Now only if Staples would take $150 or more off the Surface Pro.
