Insomniac has put the wraps on the Ratchet & Clank Future series, and those experimental co-op failures have gone the way of the dodo. It might have seemed like all was said and done for the robot/alien duo on the PlayStation 3, but that is not so. Insomniac still has one more game up its sleeve to close out the generation on a high note.
Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus will return to the classic platforming formula which made the earlier games in the series so much fun. New weapons, new detailed worlds, and a heavy emphasis on gravity this time around, it seems like Insomniac is finally ready to put the wayward series back on track.
The game will be available for $29.99 at both retail stores and on the PlayStation Network. Insomniac Games Community Leader James Stevenson puts worries to rest about the length of the game caused by the cheaper price, claiming it is the “biggest downloadable Ratchet & Clank game yet, dwarfing the size of both Quest For Booty and Full Frontal Assault.”
Fans raised fears worried that Insomniac might be jumping ship to Microsoft after Sunset Overdrive was announced as an exclusive for the Xbox One, but hopefully this game proves Insomniac’s commitment to all audiences.
Between this final surprising game and a recently announced Ratchet & Clank animated film, Sony seems to be prepping its popular duo for another bigger and better generation of Ratchet & Clank games. I hope so, because I think Knack is going to need some help carrying the mascot torch.
Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus will be available this holiday season for the PlayStation 3.
