Traditional arcade brawlers are all about co-op on the most basic of levels. Walk down hallways with your friends, locally or online, and beat the snot out of whoever gets in your way with a large variety of moves and combos. It’s not a tough formula.
Sometimes, some of these games get the idea that you might want to fight your friends and include a PVP mode. Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu is claiming that Dragon’s Crown, Vanillasoft’s upcoming high resolution brawler, is going to follow in that tradition, allowing you to use your leveled up character to duke it out online with others.
It’s not a bad idea considering these are essentially fighting games designed as co-op experiences.
Dragon’s Crown is releasing for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita on August 6th. It’s one of my most anticipated games of the summer, so except our thoughts on it around then.
