A new report from The Korea Economic Daily claims Samsung’s Galaxy Note III will feature 3GB of RAM when it hits later this year. We’ve heard the device would feature more RAM than some of today’s flagship smartphones before, so it seems like The Korea Economic Daily is confirming what we’ve already heard.

Piecing together previous rumors, it sounds like the Galaxy Note III will feature either a 5.7 or 5.99-inch 1080p HD Super AMOLED display, an octa-core or Snapdragon 800 processor, a 13-megapixel camera and Android 4.3. Nothing is confirmed and Samsung still has time to tweak and iterate before the device is announced, possibly on September 4, right before IFA 2013 in Berlin.

The device is certainly shaping up to be a juggernaut. In addition to next-gen specs, there are early rumblings Samsung could be entertaining the idea of using materials other than plastic. However, a new design ethos could be saved until next year’s Galaxy S5 (or whatever it’ll be called), so we’re not holding our breath. Stay tuned; it sounds like Samsung’s upcoming phablet will definitely be the device to watch out for.
