Photo of Alleged Low-Cost iPhone Shells Reveals Blue Model

Apple is expected to release two new smartphones this year: the flagship iPhone 5S and a low-cost model which will reportedly come in a variety of bright colors. We’ve already seen a few leaked parts for the budget-friendly phone, revealing red, yellow and green variants, but a new leaked photo depicts a fourth color option: blue.

The leaked photo depicts a row of alleged low-cost iPhone back panels in a rainbow of colors, including the already-revealed red, yellow and green, as well as blue and white. Besides the new color, the pictures are consistent with earlier leaks and reports. The edges are more rounded than the current iPhone 5 while the case has a glossy plastic look to it.

Back in June, Reuters reported that Apple was considering launching a new line of cheaper smartphones in a larger range of colors. With photos of the rumored handset leaking regularly at this point, that report seems more accurate than ever. The low-cost iPhone launch is expected to arrive sometime between now and fall 2013.
