Apple Celebrates App Store’s 5th Birthday With Timeline Poster

by Jacob Kleinman | July 3, 2013

Apple shipped out a timeline poster celebrating the history of the App Store to select members of the media today, marking the upcoming 5th anniversary of the iOS marketplace that launched in 2007. The timeline calls out some of the most popular apps around, including Angry Birds, Instagram and Draw Something, as well as the release of successive iOS-powered devices such as the iPod touch, iPad and iPhone.

The App Store’s official birthday is July 10, so expect additional celebrations as that date nears. Hopefully we’ll see a nice spike in the number of discounted apps, and maybe even sales on other Apple products, though we’re only speculating right now. After all, the company only recently kicked off its back-to-school deal.

Now here’s the real question: how soon until we see new products added to this timeline? Hopefully this fall.
