The wait is over, though most users probably didn’t have to hang out that long: the international model of the HTC One is now receiving the latest update to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The update includes enhancements to the Launcher bar, widget rearrangements, a new lock screen widget, improved home button behavior, the option to show the battery level in the status bar, auto-exposure and auto-focus lock options in the camera viewfinder, a new quick settings panel with 12 settings and more.
AndroidCentral said the update has been spotted on the international model in Taiwan, and we expect the over-the-air update will begin arriving to other international units soon. Unfortunately, the update will still need to pass carrier testing in the United States, so T-Mobile, Sprint and AT&T owners of the device will need to sit it out a bit longer.
We suspect Verizon’s HTC One will launch with Android 4.2.2 pre-installed, though that’s purely speculation at this point.
