The iPhone 5 is finally available through Virgin Mobile. Starting today you can pick up a 16GB copy of Apple’s flagship smartphone in black or white for $549.99, while 32GB and 64GB models will be available next week for $650 and $750 respectively. The handset is available through the carrier’s online store or at select RadioShacks and other independent mobile stores.
Virgin Mobile is offering customers a $35-per-month plan with unlimited texting and data. You can also bring the price down by $5 per month if you sign up for automatic monthly payments. Through July 7, Virgin Mobile is also offering a “Get Your Benjamin” promotion, promising to give $100 to any customer who switches over from another network.
The iPhone 5 was first released in September 2012. It comes equipped with a 4-inch Retina display with a resolution of 640 x 1136 pixels at 326 ppi and aspect ratio of 16:9, and a powerful A6 processor under the hood. It also boasts an updated 8-megapixel iSight camera with panorama mode and support for 4G LTE networks.
Virgin’s deal sounds like a good option, but keep in mind that the iPhone 5S is expected to launch this fall.
