With The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and an unannounced Zelda in development for the Wii U, it’s understandable that Nintendo isn’t working on another remake in the franchise that fans have been clamoring for. Even here on TechnoBuffalo, pretty much every other story about a new Zelda title invokes one comment that asks about Majora’s Mask.
Perhaps there’s room for a little hope, as Shigeru Miyamoto expressed to IGN that the fan desire for a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask is still on his mind. When asked about the fans who want a remake to the world-ending title, here’s what Miyamoto offered up.
“Well, they’re still in my memory.”
Normally, a quote like that wouldn’t even rate as worth a story. However, since you folks often ask whether or not Nintendo is driving towards remaking Majora’s Mask, I figured you’d appreciate the update.
I can’t blame you for loving the original game so much. It was a bit maligned when it was announced after Ocarina of Time as folks didn’t see it as a genuine Zelda title. Then we played it, and, man, we were greeted with a surreal and exceptional experience.
The game truly does deserve a remake down the line. I’d love to play it in HD.
