Samsung made several announcements during its global event in London today, and three new products it discussed include the ATIV Book 9 Plus, the ATIV Book 9 Lite and the ATIV One 5 Style.
The ATIV Book 9 Plus offers Intel’s new quad-core Haswell processor for up to 12 hours of battery life, a 13.3-inch touchscreen display with a rather stunning 3,200 x 1,800-pixel resolution, which is dubbed qHD+, 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB of solid state storage, micro-HDMI, mini-VGA, USB 3.0 and more. Samsung didn’t specifically say how fast the processor is, though we imagine there will be several choices available at varying price points considering it’s offering Core i5 and Core i7 options.
The device runs Windows 8 and is slightly better than Samsung’s ATIV Book 9 Lite, which offers a 13-inch screen with a lower 1,366 x 768-pixel display. It also has 4GB of RAM, 8.5 hours of battery life, up to 1TB of storage (not an SSD, however), HDMI-out, USB 2.0 and more. It also runs Windows 8 and has a quad-core processor clocked at up to 1.4GHz.
The ATIV One 5 Style offers a 21.5-inch display with a 1920 x 1080-pixel resolution, Windows 8, an AMD A6 quad-core processor, 4GB of RAM, up to 1TB of hard drive space, a 720p HD camera, two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, HDMI in/out, a 3-in-1 card reader and an Ethernet port. As its name suggests, it’s an all-in-one computer.
Samsung did not release specific pricing or release dates for any of the devices.
