Samsung co-CEO J.K. Shin recently promised that a faster Galaxy S4 will hit the market soon, though we originally suspected he meant that the new phone will only offer faster data speeds, with support for LTE Advanced networks. It turns out it might also offer Qualcomm’s high-end Snapdragon 800 processor, which offers much more power than the current Snapdragon 600 chip in the Galaxy S4.
The news is courtesy of an alleged Galaxy S4 LTE-A user manual that apparently surfaced on Samsung’s own website. It refers to the Qualcomm MSM8974 processor, which is the model number for the company’s Snapdragon 800 processor. The rest of the specs are expected to remain unchanged and Samsung’s CEO suggested the phone will cost more than the current Galaxy S4.
Apparently the phone could debut as soon as the end of this month in Korea, though Samsung has yet to even announce the device.
