In all our writing, previews and travel last week, we missed a few of the show’s best trailers and news blips. One such clip was what Game Freak and Nintendo released for Pokémon X and Y.
Take note of the ground transportation shown off, the effects that happen during battle and the few in-gym puzzles that we see. It’s the same ol’ Pokémon formula with brand new twists. Which, for fans like me, is exactly what we want.
On a related note, I was lucky enough to score an invite for a behind-closed-doors roundtable between press and Pokémon X and Y developers. It was there that we learned about one of the ways Pokémon X and Y will handle online play. Check that breakdown out here.
Pokémon X and Y will release for the Nintendo 3DS on October 12th, 2013. That, as Nintendo and Game Freak have been trumpeting since they first made the announcement, is a worldwide release date. That’s a first for the franchise.
