Nintendo Working on a Free-to-Play Game

The allure of free-to-play is even too good for Nintendo to ignore. The staunch and traditional Japanese developer is looking to finally embrace the model by creating a new free-to-play title which will be available before the end of the fiscal year, meaning as late as next spring.

No other details about what it is have been made known, but Nintendo has let on as to what the game is NOT. President and CEO Satoru Iwata has confirmed that the title will not be a Mario or a Pokemon game as they “already have good relationship in those brands.”

Any guesses as to what else it could be? What Nintendo property would fit best in the free-to-play model, or is it going to be a brand new IP? Nintendo doesn’t make those too often.

Woul you rather see this on the 3DS or the Wii U?
