Google’s Senior VP of Engineering Vic Gundotra announced an update to Google+ today that will sync notifications across mobile devices and desktop computers. The company also released an update for its social network‘s mobile app to introduce syncing, sharing stats and allowing users to delete pictures from their smartphone.

The update to Google+ notifications make sure that, if you read a notification on one device, you won’t see notifications on multiple devices. It also adds a new bell icon to let you know when new notifications come in, and the “notifications tray” now separates read and unread alerts.

Google also used the opportunity to update a few other features on its Google+ Android app. You can now see how many +1s, comments and shares your shared content receives. For now, the update is only on Android and the web; an iOS update will come later according to Gundotra.
