Rockstar continues to keep its normal low profile during E3 and has decided to only tease us with a few new screenshots of Grand Theft Auto V. No trailers, no playable demos. The secrecy is enough to frustrate even a casual fan such as myself.
Grand Theft Auto V is one of the biggest names in video games, so exposing too much of it at E3 might overshadow every other available game and steal all the limelight. Maybe that could be Rockstar’s logic because it certainly wouldn’t lose any press, that’s for sure.
At any rate, the new batch reveals not to much about the game’s world. Scuba diving, exploding boats, cars, planes, helicopters, and jet skies. Not too much we haven’t seen before.
Our three new protagonists have some revealing shots into their character though. All three are holding guns, but Michael does so with some slick 80’s lighting behind him. Trevor aims amongst a raging burst of flames, and Franklin stands in defiance of a nearby police car.
Not too subtle about the personalities of these characters: cool-minded, hot-headed and rebellious respectively.
Grand Theft Auto V has been confirmed to be released worldwide on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this September 17th.
