The Galaxy Mega 6.3’s name is meant to sound big, strong. Having finally held it, and compared it to other large handsets, the device definitely lives up to its name. It’s massive in every way, almost matching Google’s own Nexus 7, which is pretty diminutive in terms of tablet size. Against some of today’s other handsets, the Mega 6.3 looks downright monumental. This is more of a tablet than a phablet. And that fact pleases a lot of consumers to no end.
We already know what Samsung is capable of in the hardware and software department, so this comparison post will be all about the Mega 6.3’s size. How does it look next to, say, the HTC One? Or the iPhone 5? Massive. The phablet experience translates well to devices such as the Optimus G Pro and Galaxy Note II, but how well will a 6.3-inch handset handle with daily use? We’re excited to find out.
For now, check out our quick unboxing of the device, and feast your eyes on the large and in charge frame of the Mega 6.3. Samsung clearly isn’t shy about pushing the phablet boundaries, and the 6.3 is just another step toward further blurring the line between smartphone and tablet.
