Ubisoft Announces Crime Racer ‘The Crew’

by Eric Frederiksen | June 10, 2013June 10, 2013 3:40 pm PDT

The first Next-Gen game shown off by Ubisoft at their press conference today is: The Crew.

From Ivory Tower and Reflection studios, The Crew looks to be some sort of combination of a driving game and a heist game. The trailer shows cars not only racing each other but knocking over armored cars and outrunning police and upgrading cars.

In the live demo, players are shown playing live in massive environments located in New York City, somewhere in South Dakota, Detroit, Las Vegas, and Miami. The four players unite in the last city to do a cooperative mission. They show off some serious off-roading, people milling around the streets (a bit of Carmageddon DNA maybe?).

Even if there’s an official Fast and Furious game, this is clearly the actual Fast and Furious game.

Finally, tablet owners will be able to do things like configure car loadouts from their second screen to instantly use in the game.
