Looks like Microsoft is looking to truly follow up on that promise of making E3 “all about the games.” Spike TV’s Geoff Keighley has confirmed with Phil Spencer that Microsoft has 20 games lined-up to show off during its E3 conference this year.
With that number in mind, it is not known how to breakdown that number. The Xbox 360 is still in fashion, and Microsoft no doubt has a few games up its sleeve to sell on its aging console. It is unknown how many will be exclusive to the Xbox One or how many will be Kinect games shown off by awkward children.
The number Microsoft has promised is 20, which is a respectable number no doubt considering this is a console launch after all. The only exclusive games we can safely bet are going to be shown off are Quantum Dream and Forza Motorsport 5 and no doubt Call of Duty: Ghosts will be making an appearance
The number still comes short of Sony though, which is promising 40 games over the course of the entirety of E3, with the more accurate reports putting it at 48.
That figure is also spread out over PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, so there is no exact guess as to how many will be next generation games.
Any particular hopeful games you are expecting from Microsoft tomorrow? Gears of War and Halo are relics of the past, but the further past are more in fashion now than ever. I am hoping Rare makes due on its promise and delivers a new game from one of its classic IPs. Killer Instinct or Banjo Kazooie please,
