Samsung’s family of Galaxy S4 devices is quickly filling up with members, but perhaps the most mysterious of all is the S4 Zoom. Said to essentially be Samsung’s Galaxy Camera with traditional cell phone capabilities, the device will be designed predominantly with photographers in mind, with a 16-megapixel sensor and many point-and-shoot capabilities.
We’ve already seen a possible sample taken with the S4 Zoom, and what are reportedly the smartphone/camera’s specs, too. (Are we going to designate a new smartphone name like we did with phones/tablets? Smart Camera is already taken…) The picture above is allegedly what the device will look like, and it definitely doesn’t shy away from bulk. That’s to be expected with such importance being put on the camera, however, but it certainly doesn’t look pocketable.
SamMobile says the device will have a 4.3-inch qHD AMOLED display, 1.6GHz dual-core processor, 16-megapixel camera with optical zoom, 8GB internal storage (microSD expandable up to 64GB, Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi. The device will reportedly sport the latest version of Touch-Wiz and Jelly Bean, and see an official unveiling at Samsung’s London event on June 20.
