Wolfenstein: The New Order Trailer Proposes Alternate History

If MachineGames and Bethesda are looking to build a game world with a supremely interesting fictional historical setting, then it looks like they may have achieved that goal with Wolfenstein: The New Order. The E3 trailer for the game offers up iconic imagery from the world’s last century of history, only with the point that the Nazis won World War II.

Speaking as an American citizen, the imagery in this trailer is particularly chilling. Especially seeing an astronaut salute a Nazi flag on the moon. I’m not sure why that one affected me so much, but it did.

Wolfenstein: The New Order will likely have a large presence for Bethesda at E3 next week. If we get a chance to go hands-on with the title during the show, we’ll report back with our impressions.

For now, what do you think of the images used in this trailer?

Wolfenstein: The New Order is planned to release later this year for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC platforms.
