BBM Arriving for Android and iOS on June 27, T-Mobile UK Says (Updated)

BlackBerry Messenger will land on iOS and Android devices starting on June 27, according to a recent Tweet from T-Mobile UK. BlackBerry originally confirmed the popular chat service would land on the competing platforms during BlackBerry Live in early May.

Right now, however, we don’t know how many features will be carried over. For example, BBM in BlackBerry 10 allows users to share screens, video chat, link their status with apps such as FourSquare and more. The company has said that the experience will be more limited on Android and iOS, likely in a bid to bring more users over to BlackBerry 10 for a full-fledged BBM. Still, BlackBerry could charge users for additional features through in-app purchases.

TechnoBuffalo reached out to BlackBerry for comment but a spokesperson was not immediately available. We’ll keep you in the loop if we hear more.

Update: BlackBerry has officially denied the report.
