Scorpion Announced as DLC Character in Injustice: Gods Among Us

Warner Bros. just couldn’t leave well alone, could they? A standalone DC Universe fighting game finally has the comic world’s attention as being a quality title, and it just had to inject a little Mortal Kombat into the mix.

Mortal Kombat‘s most iconic character, the undead yellow ninja Scorpion, will be making his way into the parallel dimension to battle evil Superman and whatever other ridiculous plot occurs in that game. He brings with him a redesigned look and his classic spear special movie. GET OVER HERE!

Still, if any character from Mortal Kombat should make guest appearances in more games, it’s Scorpion.

Scorpion already found himself at odds with the DC villain and heroes in 2008’s Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe. Since then, the series has found fresh life after a successful reboot in 2011. It remains to be seen how intermingled the two entertainment franchises will be from here on out.

Could this be a long term relationship, or just the revival of a fling from a few years ago?

The Scorpion DLC will be available on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network for $5 (400 MSP).
