Despite the feeling of dread and despair surrounding HTC amid news of declining profits, shipping delays and executives resigning left and right, there’s still a glimmer of good news. The HTC One‘s launch boosted sales of the Taiwanese company’s smartphones by 48 percent, and the aluminum handset is holding up in the market against Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S4.
After watching its share value drop by 76 percent over the past two years, it appears that HTC couldn’t wait to release its latest monthly sales figures a little early. With the One largely available around the world, sales are picking up for the beleaguered company and have almost doubled since March.
Now we’ll need to see if those sales translate into profits when the company reports its Q2 2013 results.
