It’s become custom over the last several years for video game companies to drape massive banners all over the exterior of the Los Angeles Convention Center during E3. Each banner is bigger than the last, and the space they grab on the center’s exterior dictates their visibility.
When the PlayStation Move was unveiled, Sony grabbed the top of the main entrance and branded it with the PlayStation logo before the show began. When the world learned of the Move, a new banner featuring Kevin Butler and a virtual bow and arrow took its place overnight.
See, a lot of companies are careful with what they point on their banners and, sometimes more importantly, when.
Over the weekend, one driver in downtown L.A. (NeoGAF user Gribbix) happened to stroll by the LACC. The banner they saw on the outside of the building was for Dark Souls II, and it packs a March 2014 release window right below the main title.
Sure, this is a rumor, but it’s one with official company branding. Mark your calendars, fans of dying over and over again. (I mean that lovingly, of course).
