Indie Gaming Soundtrack Spotlight #1 – Mutant Mudds

Mutant Mudds

A few weeks back, Ron Duwell and I composed a list with our 10 favorite indie gaming soundtracks. The article did fairly well, but most readers kept asking why we didn’t include X or Y. Well, we had 10 slots to work with, and each of us picked our five favorites.

With that in mind, we decided to launch a new initiative here at TechnoBuffalo. We’re calling it the Indie Gaming Soundtrack Spotlight. The first edition will feature a game not on that top 10 list. Today we start with the soundtrack behind Mutant Mudds.

Developed by Renegade Kid, Mutant Mudds is a 2D action platformer that’s currently available for the Nintendo 3DS, PC and iOS platforms. The game’s soundtrack, composed by Troupe Gammage, is an incredible homage to the tunes behind the games of yesteryear.

Give it a listen.

The best news? The Bandcamp listing for the soundtrack is pay-what-you-want, so you can pick up the full album for as much as you’d like. Do it up, folks.

In related news, Mutant Mudds Deluxe just earned its Wii U launch date. You’ll be able to snag this game from the Nintendo eShop starting June 13th, 2013.

What do you think of this new weekly feature? Will you come back for more?
