Acer will reportedly announce a new all-in-one “PC” that runs an Intel Haswell processor and Android, CNET said Friday. The device, dubbed the DA220HQL AIO, will launch with a Intel Core i5 4430 processor clocked at 3GHz. While an Intel chip might typically lead one to believe that the device will run a PC operating system like Windows 8, that’s not going to be the case. Acer can price the computer much lower by using Android instead.

According to a listing on CompSource, the new Acer all-in-one will also offer 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, a 21.5-inch display. Oddly, however, the site lists Android 4.0 as the primary operating system, which is a few years old at this point. Hopefully we’re looking at an Android Jelly Bean install. Despite its large display, the computer will cost between $400 and $425, depending on the retailer, CNET said. Still, CompSource is listing a price of just $391 right now.

Update: Acer reached out to TechnoBuffalo and said the original report from CNET was incorrect. The new All-in-One is equipped with a Texas Instruments 4430 ARM chip and not an Intel processor.
