Quantum Break Box Art Revealed – My Angry Boredom

Quantum Break

Remedy’s Xbox One exclusive Quantum Break saw its cover art leak today. Retailer Cdon has the game available for preorder right now.

Nobody in the picture seems especially happy to be there, but it does hint at a kind of teleportation mechanic which could play a huge role in gameplay. Aside from that, not much else is revealed.

We initially predicted that Microsoft had turned to Remedy to make an exclusive designed to combat the PlayStation 3’s Beyond: Two Souls, but I think I’ll have to rethink that claim after seeing this. No haunting young girl. No military forces. No massive explosions.

Remedy’s games are known for their dark twists and hellish imagery, but this is just a generic cliche box art with smoky effects and a dude wearing dated 90s fashion.  It looks like a cheap blu-ray insert digitally altered to sell a classic film. What went wrong with this?

Hopefully, the game will be more exciting than it’s box art sells it to be, or even better yet,  hopefully this is not the box art Microsoft plans to sell the game with stateside.
