Duolingo Teaches Foreign Languages with Gamification

by Jacob Kleinman | May 29, 2013

If you want to learn a foreign language and have an Android phone then this is your lucky week. Pick up Duolingo for free on Google Play and start learning a foreign language the fun way.

Google Play’s app of the week uses gamification to teach users German, Spanish, French, Portugese or Italian. The app features large buttons and swipe controls that let you progress through basic language exercises. Make a mistake and the app will correct you, but also take away one of your three hearts.

Duolingo also lets you login through Google+ or create a new account, so you can easily save your progress. The app is already earning positive reviews from Android users so check it out whether you’re planning a trip to Europe or just trying to impress your friends.
