Google Glass Nest App Launched

You’ve probably heard of Nest — the futuristic thermostat that not only allows you to control the temperature of your house from your smartphone, but also learns your temperature habits to help you save money. Now a developer taking the thermostat one step further into the future.

Developer James Rundquist is releasing an application for Google Glass that will allow you to control your temperature without ever having to access your smartphone. Simply speak voice commands into the Nest Google Glass application and you’re good to go — no matter where you are. Different commands (in the screenshot below) allow you to set the temperature, put the thermostat into away mode and take it out of away mode. It’s dead simple, too. Simply saying “I’m Home” will tell the termostat that you’ve arrived back in the house and that it should raise or lower the temperature based on your settings. Or you can say “set temperature” and give it a specific degree to target.

The app is just the latest of a slew that recently launched. Others include Facebook, Tumblr, CNN, Twitter and more.
