We expected the latest in Samsung’s flagship phone series to break the sales records its predecessors set, and the Galaxy S4 passed with flying colors. It hit the 10 million units sold mark overnight in Korea after only 26 days on the market. The Galaxy S3 had sold 10 million in 50 days, and before that, the Galaxy S2 had taken five months to hit the same sales figure.
“On behalf of Samsung, I would like to thank the millions of customers around the world who have chosen the Samsung Galaxy S4,” stated CEO Shin Jong-kyun. “At Samsung we’ll continue to pursue innovation inspired by and for the people.” Shin had predicted earlier this week that the Galaxy S4 would hit the 10 million mark sometime this week.
In celebration, Samsung announced a variety of new colors for the phone which will be available later this summer. These will include Blue Arctic, Red Aurora, Purple Mirage and Brown Autumn.
