Following today’s Xbox One unveiling, several tidbits of information have begun trickling in about the specifics of the console’s workings. This one you’re reading now involves the brand new Kinect.
It turns out that the Kinect must be plugged in and working in order for the Xbox One to function.
The confirmation comes from IGN in a brief interview with Xbox UK’s head of marketing, Harvey Eagle.
“Kinect does require to be connected to Xbox One in all cases, yes…”
The good news? Each Xbox One will come with a brand new Kinect, so it’s not like Microsoft will require folks to buy an additional accessory in order to enjoy their new consoles. The bad news? Folks who are afraid of Big Brother watching them at all times will have to wear tinfoil hats… permanently.
What do you think of the Xbox One’s Kinect requirement.
