MacBook Air supplies are becoming constrained ahead of Apple’s World Wide Developers Conference, indicating the beloved laptop is in for a refresh. A number of top resellers, including Amazon and MacMall, are all seeing dwindling availability, particularly the high-end 13.3-inch models. Low inventory is typically a solid sign we’ll see newer models—previous rumors suggest Apple will implement Intel’s new Haswell processor in both its Air and Pro lines.
Apple’s conference is currently scheduled for June 10-14, so we’ll know if new models are coming relatively soon. If Apple does take advantage of the new Intel chips, we could see Airs with longer battery life, and even better integrated graphics. The Pro models expected to see a refresh are the models equipped with optical drives, and not the Retina versions; an update for those is expected later this year.
